Nicole Saba barely has time to rest. She has a hectic schedule with endless appointments and projects.

In a recent interview with al-Shorfa, she talked about her latest endeavors.

"I am currently shooting a Lebanese television series that will be aired in June on LBC. The series is titled 'Forbidden Love.' I am also taking part in an Egyptian television series, the first to be shot with cinematic techniques."

About her role in the Lebanese series, Saba says, "I am playing the part of a Lebanese artist who falls in love with a politician and faces a series of problems and obstacles that kill the love story." She preferred not to give away the rest of the story.

As for the Egyptian series, titled "Guest Star", she says, "it is a reality-based series encompassing five talented young people who want to work in cinema. I make a special appearance as myself and talk with the new entertainers."

On top of her television commitments, she is "currently reading screenplays for movies. However, I am more focused on television series, because the parts I am offered in cinema are superficial. In addition, television series have more depth and offer me the opportunity to choose a part I can relate to."

Saba also talked about her latest video clip for her song "The Man of My Dreams", in which she is a wife whose husband has cheated on her. "What I am presenting in that video clip is the reality of how we are living: marriages built on lies, the suffering of mothers who do not want to ruin their houses but choose to keep their families intact."

As for the man of her dreams, she says, "I dream about a faithful person. Women cannot stand betrayal. Faithful men are hard to find. I dream of an ideal person, who would also be content and understanding."

Asked why she is interested in featuring women in such diverse roles, Saba said, "I like to depict women as leaders or revolutionary characters that are similar to my character."

Having recently changed her hair color from blonde to brunette, Saba commented, "It is not all about the hair color, since I have European features. But dark hair does bring me closer to people. In all cases, the color of my hair does not dictate the roles I play. My parts are decided by my natural talents and abilities. All I know is that I have greatly matured these days. I have moved from one stage to the next. I am no longer drawn by the outside. It is the content and the depth that I find far more appealing."

Asked about how singing fits in her busy schedule, she said, "Preparations are now underway for a new song. I am part of a team that exchanges ideas and topics, and I am taking my time so as to present something really worthwhile. My fans know that when I am away, that means something good is in the making."

She often works with director Yahia Saada. "We understand one another. We worked together three times without any repetition. What we present is always new. So if the stuff is good, there is no reason why I cannot continue to work with him."
