The second round of the FC Cup 2010 got rolling Tuesday (March 16th) as first-class Asian clubs travelled around the continent.

Kuwait SC went home with a point after a 2-2 draw with India's Churchill Brothers SC in Fatorda Stadium in India. Jordan's Shabab Ordon failed to secure three points after a 2-2 draw in Amman against Karamah, the Syrian stars. Karamah scored first in the fourth minute, but Shabab waited until the end of the first half to tie the score. They faced a strong start in the second half by the Karamah boys when Hassan Abbas scored again for the Syrians. Saleh Nimar scored last for Shabab to end the match in a draw.

In other cup action, Oman's Nahada lost to Qatar's Rayyan 3-2. Rayyan appeared to be in control, scoring three goals before Nahada played their best in the last 15 minutes of the match to score a pair of goals. During intense play Nahada defender Nasir Shimli was sent off with a red card. The Omani outfit Saham secured a victory at home against Yemen's Ahli Sanaa, beating them 1-0 in a match where two red cards were shown, one for each side. To round out the day, Jordan's Wihdat lost 2-1 in Bahrain against home side Riffa.

During second round matches on Wednesday, Nasaf Karshi from Uzbekistan snared three points by defeating Syria's Jaish 2-1. The Syrians scored first, but Karshi came back to score two goals and win the match. A 0-0 draw was the last word in the matchup between Kuwaiti Qadsia and Syria's Ittihad of Aleppo. The Lebanese side Ahed fell in Kuwait, losing to Kazima 1-0. Yet Nejmeh, the other Lebanese team, managed a victory by beating Indian's East Bengal 3-0. On Tuesday (March 23rd) round three of the FC Cup 2010 and the AFC Champions League 2010 will begin.

Gulf Volleyball

In the Gulf Volleyball Clubs Cup 2010 in Oman, the winner was announced after magical play on Wednesday (March 17th). Qatar's Arabi won the gold after defeating Oman's Sohar 3-0. Arabi played an outstanding match as they beat the home side. Second place went to Saudi's Hilal after they whipped UAE Nasr 3-0. The Hilal stars control the match and capture the silver. Third place went to Muharraq, the Bahraini side, which beat Kuwait's Qadsia 3-1. The pace was difficult for the Bahraini players to maintain, but they managed to keep the match going their way. Omani fans left disappointed because their clubs did not earn any medals.
