Iran said it will exchange uranium for nuclear fuel, a compromise proposed by the IAEA, but on the condition that it does so in installments and not all at once, AP reported on Saturday (December 12th). Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said Iran would send an initial shipment of 400 kg of uranium. Slowing down the export would still leave Iran in control of enough uranium to produce a bomb, the agency reported.
The US has already dismissed the Iranian offer, saying it was inconsistent with a deal that would allow Iran to avoid further sanctions.
