Iran is giving world powers until the end of January to accept its counterproposal to a UN plan to enrich Iran's uranium, AP reported Saturday (January 2nd). The international community proposed through the IAEA that Iran send uranium to be enriched in France and Russia. On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said the West could either sell nuclear fuel to Iran, or exchange nuclear fuel in small batches, not at once, as the UN suggests. If the "West" refuses, Iran will begin producing nuclear fuel on its own, Mottaki told state television.
