Security Council sanctions will not deter Iran from its nuclear path, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad said in a speech on Saturday (January 9th). "I assure the people that the government will whole-heartedly defend Iran's rights and will not back down one iota," Ahmedinejad said in a televised speech. "They (UN) issued several resolutions and sanctioned Iran. They think Iranians will fall on their knees over these things but they are mistaken," he said. Iran is already under three different types of sanctions for its unilateral nuclear activity.
