Eight people were killed in clashes between tribesmen and Houthi rebels in the Jawf province in northern Yemen, AFP reported Saturday (January 9th). The fighting began when tribesmen dismantled a Houthi roadblock. In the clashes that ensued, five Houthis and three tribesmen were killed. The Houthis have been battling the government since last August. Their stronghold is in the northern province of Saada.
