Yemen should rely on dialogue to resolve multiple crises that threaten regional stability, senior Iranian and Omani officials said on Wednesday (January 13th). The foreign ministers of Iran and Oman met in Tehran and held a joint press conference afterward, emphasizing the possible spill-over effects of Yemen's war with al-Qaeda, Houthi rebels and southern separatists, Reuters reported. "We are prepared in any way possible to find a solution to resolve security concerns [in Yemen]," said Omani Foreign Minister Youssef bin Alawi.
Yemen has accused clerics in Iran of backing the rebels and Iranian media have attacked Saudi Arabia for joining in the war against them since November.
The Houthists fought the Yemeni forces with Iranian assistance.
