Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad criticised Saudi Arabia for taking up arms against Muslims, AFP reported Thursday (January 14th). Saudi Arabia should have helped make peace in Yemen, not "get themselves involved in the war and use bombs and machine guns against Muslims", Ahmedinejad said.

Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal responded by accusing Iran of interfering in Yemen's domestic affairs. Yemen is fighting Houthi rebels who have crossed the border into Saudi Arabia and accused Iran of supporting the insurgents.
