Ten Yemeni soldiers were killed in clashes between the army and Houthi rebels in north Yemen, AFP reported Monday (February 8th). Most of the soldiers were killed by snipers, a military source told the agency. An estimated 15 Houthi supporters and two tribesmen were also killed. The outbreak of fighting occurred in Saada province and follows a government offer of conditions to establish a ceasefire. They include leaving occupied government buildings in Saada, freeing all prisoners, reopening roads in the north and not attacking Saudi Arabia.
