Saudi Arabia’s human rights commission is seeking to obtain a divorce for a 12-year-old girl forcibly married to an octogenarian, Al Arabiya reported on Tuesday (February 9th). The commission hired a lawyer to petition for divorce, thereby hoping to create a judicial precedent that would ban marriages to girls under the age of 18.
