The United Nations has opened an aid office to assist the 250,000 Yemenis who have been displaced during the six years of fighting between security forces and the Houthi rebels, The National reported Saturday (March 27th). The UN office reopened in Saada after being closed last August due to the intense conflict.
While aid workers intend to get much-needed supplies to the refugees in the area, there are many others who remain out of reach, warned Aboudou Adjibade, the UN aid chief in Yemen. "We continue to call for access to the entire Saada governorate," he said. Instability and unexploded mines are hindering access, he added.
