Qatar is increasing its production of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by more than 50% in the next two years and is emerging as the Arab world's top producer, Khaleej Times reported Wednesday (May 5th). The emirate is exporting 90% of its production of petroleum derivatives to Asia, said Saad al-Kuwari, the CEO of Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Company, known by its Arabic acronym as Tasweeq. Qatar will produce 12.6 million tons of LPG by 2012, up from 8.2 million tons this year, al-Kuwari added.
