Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki visited Beirut in order to pay his respects at the mosque where Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Fadlallah is buried, NOW Lebanon reported on Friday (July 9th).
"I offer my condolences to the entire nation for this great man," Maliki said of Fadlallah, one of the founders of the Iraqi premier's Dawa Party.
Maliki also met with Prime Minister Saad Hariri. He pledged to promote bilateral ties between the two countries and offered assistance to Lebanon to import Iraq's oil products.
"We are heading toward reconstruction as well as re-establishing and promoting diplomatic ties with our fellow Arab states," Maliki said.
