Yemen's Houthi rebels denied accusations they imposed a blockade of tribal allies of the government in the Harf Sufyan area near Saada, Gulf News reported on Thursday (July 22nd).
"The army has been pounding the citizens in [nearby] villages and a lot of our people were martyred," said Abu Hashem, a spokesman for the rebel leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi.
The government did not respond to the charges.
On Wednesday, 66 members of parliament organized a sit-in and accused the Houthis of murdering tribesmen close to the government and blockading villages.
