Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz and Syrian President Bashar Assad arrived in Beirut Friday (July 30th) for talks with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman.
It was the first time either of them have visited Lebanon since the Arab League summit in 2002.
The visit came at a time of political tension in Lebanon following media reports that a UN tribunal could indict Hizbullah members in the 2005 killing of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.
Assad, whose regime was accused of committing the crime, described the summit and side meetings with senior Lebanese officials as "excellent".
A final communiqué from the three leaders called on all Lebanese not to resort to violence to settle their differences and said that Lebanon's well-being should come above partisan interests.
The statement also said the talks focused on preserving stability in Lebanon and increasing opportunities for economic growth.
After meeting with Assad and Suleiman, King Adbullah flew to Jordan on the fourth and final stop of a regional tour that began in Egypt.
