Iraqi officials are estimating that 275,000 Iraqis voted internationally from March 5-7 in the country's parliamentary elections, Al Jazeera reported. Official estimates for overall turnout for last Sunday's elections are now at 62.5 %, and the figure does not include those voting before the elections, including security personnel, or those who voted outside Iraq. Roughly 11.7 million Iraqis cast their ballots, according to the electoral commission.
Initial results are expected in the coming days. The State of Law coalition led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is predicting a sweeping victory.
