Yemen and Saudi Arabia have signed an agreement to create a joint economic zone, the Yemen Observer reported Wednesday (March 10th). Yemen will select the location of the zone in the Al-Towal port area near the Saudi border to promote business between the two countries. Yemen is preparing feasibility studies for the joint project, according to trade minister Yahya al-Mutawakel. The economic zone will also create job opportunities for Yemenis and attract investment, the minister added.
