The Bahrain Human Rights Society said it would challenge the Ministry of Social Development's decision to dismiss the organisation's chairman and board, Gulf News reported Thursday (September 9th).
The ministry shut down the society after complaints by Bahraini journalists that they were unfairly insulted at a conference held by the organization.
In a statement, the ministry said the society had moved away from being impartial toward all sections of Bahraini society.
However, the group's chairman Abdullah al-Derzai said the ministry should have referred the matter to the courts, rather than dismiss the group's leadership.
